s'pose it was probably pidgeons but there's a nagging doubt in my cos our little goosegog bush is a bit wild and .....unkempt Rolling Eyes
whatever ate them would have had to move branches aside to reach the ones in the middle. Hmmmmm....... Confused

Probably was the birds D&T they love 'em- they also seem to know exactly when they are ready and nick 'em about 20 minutes before you harvest them Confused

Harvested mine yesterday - which had been careful netted and everything - got 15 goosegogs Sad

Don't think I've hadany nicked, just for some reason I didn't get many to set .

On a happier note I got in my first ever rasps - only about 20, but there's more coming Very Happy

D & T you have my sympathy cos same happened to me so no guzgog ice cream for me Crying or Very sad they were ripening lovely yesterday cos I tasted em. Just not quite ready. Been today and not one left Evil or Very Mad Damn em Sad

at least mine were rock hard and sour when they went (visions of pidgeons vomiting and clutching their painfully distended bellies Evil or Very Mad )

Me too Dom. gonna take better care of me fruit bushes generally next year! don't look like they've been pruned for years Rolling Eyes

Wilko have got guzgogs in. Two sizes - the biggest at £3 and the littler ones at £1 each. I bought the cheaper ones. Red ones they are but can't understand the lingo on the box so gawd knows what variety they are Confused

That the same as mine cos they are red and the variety is "I've no idea what they are" as well!

Very tasty though....trouble is the birds think so too Rolling Eyes

Not alf! The chuffin birds nicked all mine last year which admitted weren't many but really Evil or Very Mad One minute they were plumping up nicely (me guzgogs that is Rolling Eyes ) and the next every single one vanished Evil or Very Mad

Bloomin blackbird nicked all mine last year 'nall Sad

I just bought a blackberry from wilkos, looks interesting little symbols on the side of the box suggest that it only grows to about 4 foot Shocked , and it fruits between May & July Confused We shall see what happens Very Happy
