I got them buckets anorl Flo. Did you get the lids too?
Good veg there Flo. It might be late August but there's still plenty out there for the picking. Wish I had some kale or calabrese in the offing. Sadly not |

Went plotting today to dig up spuds. Got rained off and I had to leave the crop outside in the rain Brought some home with me though only to find OH had been shopping and brought a huge bag of spuds and they were all sprouting. Such a discerning shopper
Ate some of my spuds last night, mashed, they were deliciously creamy. Cara and Desiree, and the first sweetcorn. Gorgeous |

Go on Dom, try it you might like it I mean courgette cake sounds orrible but it's fab
Been plotting today for a few hours, digging up more spuds and generally faffing about. Was lovely til it **ssed it down Managed to hack down some huge brassicas. Massive plants but not a curd or sprout of any kind betwen them. What a waste of space. Oh well they'll make some good compost but I would have preferred sommat to eat |

I managed an hour on the plot yesterday
Reminder: It's onion set planting time, also garlic and shallots
We're talking Japanese onion sets for overwintering. They're available in the shops now, but they're going fast
I shall be planting the heated treated ones early next year
I planted some shallot 'Jermor' yesterday. Smashing they are too. Purple under the ordinary looking skin, big, fat but elongated so it makes them easier to slice |
