I use it all the time at the mo as it soons turns to liquid gold in weather like this (stuffed down the comfrey pipe) I just add water so it looks like weak tea. Been watering with it to try and get rid of the yellowing on the leaves, esp the courgettes |

you can use rolled up leaves as plant food at planting time. In goes the rolled up comfrey leaf and then your plant on top
Walked round to my plot this afto with husband and my nephew and picked loads of courgettes, new potatoes, calabrese, carrots, parsley, mint, onions, shallots, garlic, and ate berries. Far too hot to do any work so sauntered home |

Yep, mine too SQ - I pulled up a load of japanese salad leaves on Sunday cos they'd bolted - and I've forgotten to successional sow, so will need to start again. Still have little gems and mixed salad leaves tho
Tonight for dinner we had tacos with home grown tomatoes, cuc and salad leaves Tasted goooood
I've inspected my aubergines again and the edge of one of the leaves has been curled over and fixed tight with silk, so something's hiding in there Not slugs after all... I'm intrigued now _________________ I'm not big on high maintenance - when it's time to bow out, I'll skid in sideways, in a wrecked, wrinkly and burned out body, wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, yelling "Woooohoooo, what a ride that was!!!!" |

Have just been inspecting 'the estate' ... as you do
Brought home salads and beetroot, peas, sweet peas and some fuschia cuttings from a neighbour
The squash patch has taken off and there are all sorts in the gungle ... but what I want to know is ... how big should a spaghetti squash ideally be? ... so fars its about 9" x 4" ... never cooked one before so have no idea ... but t'would be heaps gor two I would have thought ???
... and the comfrey bin pongs too _________________ Gulp ...
I love my vegetable garden. So here is my sad ballad: I nurtured it for months, And ate it in one salad! |

Weather forecast for Friday to Sunday in this part of Lincs looks good Dom. According to Metcheck anyway so it'll probably piss down! _________________

They said they were getting a mossie machine the week after our Scout camp - the one they used for filming the Potter films in Scotland. Attracts the mossies over a wide area then hoovers them in - still packing the repellent though - they were terrible in May when we went with Scouts. The midgies were a bugger in the Dales too! _________________

My garden is covered in them, all different sorts. This years neglect is really stating to show.
Had to clear all outside toms as blight hit them. Now piles of green toms to deal with(as well as part eaten ones) Caterpillars really like the Ivory Egg toms |
