Ghostrider

North

Perfect for halloween if you have kids. Large even shape fruits which look like they'll make good lanterns - 2/3 fruits per plant.

Gawd don't get me going on pumpkins - me faves Very Happy

For eating, if I could grow only one, it would be Crown Prince. Sweet Mama is delish but a bit mushy so best for soup. It tastes like sweet potato Very Happy

The Festival ones look beautiful, with their lovely stripes and are good cubed and fried with rice dishes, roast as wedges etc

North by the way

I've got some Pumpkins in for the cubs - not doing badly but not huge and still very green, should they be going orange yet. They are Jack O Lantern I think.

Not growing any more squashes cos you lot have got all the seeds Very Happy

This year I have grow some seed that I got from Lidls - can't remember the name but will look em up when I get the chance. They have grown big pumpkins - too big. However, the flesh is not pumpkin like as I know it - more akin to butternut but with pumpkin taste. It is dense and smooth, not stringy and slushy when cooked. I would like an orange pumpkin that is smaller but has the same sort of flesh. Any ideas? Very Happy
