Went and thinned out my pak choi yesterday and its been slugged badly Evil or Very Mad Still got three rows of plants so just hope they recover before bad weather sets in. The plants that is and not the slugs.....talking of slugs and I am never ever ever ever growing Cara again - out of 2 rows I got about 5lb of spuds cos every single other spud had been badly slugged Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad A couple of desiree that somehow got mixed in gave about 10lb on their own with just one slugged.......GRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

oh bugger! Just noticed that Icy said (above) he's never doing Cara again. I just ordered some Sad

Back to pak choi. Got a fresh packet of seed this morning. Going to risk sowing some as it's been quite mild out of late and this week supposed to be staying fine.

I did a few cara last year and they were gorgeous! No damage from blight or slugs and they tasted just like spuds did when I was a wee girl Very Happy

I did Cara my first year. Great spuds but mine did have quite a lot of slug damage which is the onluy reason I haven't done em since - good chips. Very Happy

If anyone is interested ... yesterday when I was at the nursery for my spuds ... I just happeded to wander over to the seeds ... as you do Embarassed Rolling Eyes Very Happy ... anyway I noticed that T&M had a packet of MIXED Pak Choi ... thought this would be a great idea for a lottie ... little bit of everything!

Sadly I had run out of cash so will just have to go back again I suppose ... what a hardship!! Laughing Laughing Laughing

love the stuff Flo. Had a load for me lunch. That out on the plot looks a bit manky. It could do with covering up to keep the leaves clean but can't be arsed to do it Embarassed

CAUTION STUPID QUESTION ALERT.

Can you eat it raw or just stir fried ?

I want to do lettuce of the world this year. HAd great success with chinese leaves one year (lidl seeds) on plot but will do them at home as more likely to pick for tea than drive out and pick from plot.

I use the very small leaves in salads ... with cut and come again stuff ... makes the bowl look very pretty AND it is yummy Very Happy Try it Bagy!
