Mine are in a 4 tier container which I went to dismantle and put on a bit of waste ground behind the shed so I could propagate some of the runners but when I went to move it on Sunday I found that I had 12 new strawberry plants growing out of my lawn! Shocked Laughing Laughing Trying to decide whether to dig them up and put them in pots (and leave holes in lawn) or mow over the top of them and hope they go away without damaging lawn Confused Laughing Laughing

I'd take them out and pot them up. You could nick a bit of turf from the edge somewhere to fill any holes you migh make

Ah yes, strawbs... Smile

After this last year, when I discovered the local PYO was growing the ghastly crunchy elsanta and it was cheaper to get them from the supermarket Rolling Eyes , my lovely lottie mate Chris has given me 15 potted-up runners from her marshmello plants. I always said I wouldn't grow strawbs cos they take up so much room and the PYO was nearby (and run by folk at my church) but they've given up the lease so I have no loyalty any more!

That and the marshmello knocks spots off any shop variety.

Now all I have to do is work out where the heck I'm going to put them. Have a horrible feeling they'll end up in the lottie flowerbed, in among the dahlias!

Never heard of them MB, so I'll keep a look out. Ta for the tip. I bet they'd do well amongst the flowers. On the communal plot MB we've put them on top of that tall raised bed, growing through the sheet mulch. They're looking good Smile
