Flowers on about half my plants so far. They're in growbags this year and will be going on my strawberry putter as my 4 year old has aptly named the heath robinson construction.
Will post a pic if I ever get round to putting it together _________________ I'm a very friendly lion....... Usually.

I weeded my strawberry patch today
(it was a jungle in there)
anyway, I was planning to transplant them to a patch of nicely manured ground but never got round to it and now they are all fruit laden but the ground they're in must surely be impoverished cos I didn't feed them last year either
so, shall I sprinkle on some 'growmore organic' and rake it in between them before mulching with straw?
or
mulch between plants with rotted manure?
or
leave them to their own devices this year and plant autumn runners in a new bed?
strawberries are a very important crop in this household, advice please??? _________________

WORD OF CAUTION...Be careful with using poo this time of year cos you don't want nasty bugs on your fruit and resulting tummy upset....... _________________ "Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, multiplying thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times" Mark 4, v8 |

sooo...before I trundle down there tomorrow...
is it safe to put pooh in the spaces between the plants but leaving a good margin?
or shall I just go with the 'groworganic' idea?
and what the flip is 'groworganic' anyway? _________________

Personally I don't put manure on anything that I will eat uncooked just in case.
Commercially if you apply manure for such crops you don't plant it for 6 months!
Mine are all snugged under shredded paper from the office so my recommendation would be to give them some liquid/granular feed (+ compost rather than manure if you want) then mulch them under paper with straw on top.
