Yeah should be Tara - I do that all the time, I reckon it helps form roots up the stem (well it does with tomatoes so why not with everything else) Very Happy

Did I not mention - don't do it with cucumbers Laughing Laughing Laughing

Just looked it up - aubergines are in the same family as potatoes and tomatoes, so I reckon it'll be OK (you earth up tatties and can plant toms as deep as you like) Very Happy

Sometimes instead of replanting deeper I just top up the compost round their scrawny necks as Tara says, just to stave off repotting for a coupla days

I got back from my travels to find four calliope, three mohican and umpteen long violets up. Woohoo!

The only problem - room for two or three inside ones so rest will need to find homes outside!

How do you know when Aubergines are ready then ???

I've got some lovely purple ones which are quite small and round (oooeer Mrs) - will they be ready ??
