Yeah should be Tara - I do that all the time, I reckon it helps form roots up the stem (well it does with tomatoes so why not with everything else)  _________________ The most I can do for my friend is simply be his friend.

Sometimes instead of replanting deeper I just top up the compost round their scrawny necks as Tara says, just to stave off repotting for a coupla days |

I got back from my travels to find four calliope, three mohican and umpteen long violets up. Woohoo!
The only problem - room for two or three inside ones so rest will need to find homes outside!

If you want some Long Purples then I've a potful, and since they grow so slowly, I can give you at least a couple of weeks' head start. Probably 3-4 weeks.

How do you know when Aubergines are ready then ???
