eck, I've no idea! Joan Js will carry on fruiting from mid-July to frost, a few each week, and are large misshapen berries with a distinctly different flavour to summer 'July-only' berries. They are also a darker red.

You'll know if they are - the Glen Amples are fruit-once-in-one-go jobbies, so if you don't get any more, then I gave you them! If they keep on growing new flowers then new berries, they're Joans. They grow sideshoots then more flowers then berries and (rinse and repeat).

Confused now Confused ... think I will have to go take piccies ... thay have very dark fruit and are producing side shoots too ...

it's really only because that's the best way to determine which ones fruited (so you don't massacre next years canes by mistake) Wink

Sorry Dom but I know bugger all about rasps. I just cut the dead bits off. They sort of go all rotten and kind of fall off. Maybe they're dead Very Happy
