You need to make sure the house and run are moved regularly. If chickens are left on the same ground all the time they become sick from the build up parasites and disease organisms in the ground.

When I were a lass, we had bantams for a while and mum never moved em and they were fine. They were let out to scratch about in the garden fairly regularly but the shed and run were never moved. Did you see the bit about chooks in KG?

I really have read up and tried to find out as much as poss before getting me chucks, but haven't read anything about not moving the coup and run. Mr D has built quite a big run attached to the coup and we will let them out to scratch in the garden n'all Confused

If your only going to have a few birds you could possibly get away without moving the run. Depends on the size of the run and amount of chickens.
