Okay - here goes -
my Gardener's Delight toms say "sow indoors in January" .... like, now? .... or should I wait a bit seeing as I'm in the frozen n-n-n-n-n-north? Oh, and my sweetpeas say January too. Advice please, peeps. _________________ I'm not big on high maintenance - when it's time to bow out, I'll skid in sideways, in a wrecked, wrinkly and burned out body, wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, yelling "Woooohoooo, what a ride that was!!!!" |

I'm not putting any toms in until March this year. Feb was too early this year and without a heated greenhouse or any south facing windows, twas a struggle to keep them from going leggy. _________________

calendar.google.com
Looking at it now... as it's designed to be shareable.

drat. Looks great but requires folk to have a gmail account first if they want to edit it. Though if one person wants to set it up to share, it's easy, but read-only for people without gmail. Or is it? hubby has managed it with his, so am attempting to find out how he did it. _________________ Diary of my Chilterns lottie

OK peeps!
Google calendar faffing seems to have come up with something usable.
1) First person sets up a calendar.
2) they input the valid email address of someone they want to share it with and say that they would like that person to be invited
3) that person goes and creates a google account with *any email addy they like* though in a forum, some folk would no doubt be reticent about emails so there's nothing to stop you creating a gmail account just for the purpose, then ignoring it!
4) the second person searches for either the first person's email under other calendars, or the calendar name (if it was created as public!) and you can hook in. First person can give various admin privileges to second.
Security thoughts: best not have unlimited access as otherwise you're courting disaster from scriptkiddies and the like.
Would a few of us agree to be admins for a calendar of planting dates? I would think it would just mean typing in dates! A viewable calendar is easy to show publicly, without all and sundry having editing rights. I just found 21 allotments calendars on the web!

ps any volunteers already with google accounts to beta test it, please pm me _________________ Diary of my Chilterns lottie
