I think a good place to start is under the sink. Nowt better than a good clear out of poisins lurking therein

When the health inspector called recently he drew a sharp intake of breath at some of the Amway cleaning products I had and asked me for hazard sheets which took some getting Confused Anyway was advised to look at the labels which were tiny and impossible to read, and anyway were not in English despite being sold here Confused health bloke reckons the oven cleaner is well dodgy and I shouldn't use it. So that rattled me cage so have been listening to Kim and Aggie who recommend using natural stuff like soap, bicarb, lemon etc, beeswax. Next is getting rid of stuff that is dodgy if put down the drain now that we have alternatives readily available.

Rather than reprint a book perhaps if you need a specific remedy for a specific purpose to find a specifc answer might be more useful ?? Confused

That looks worth bookmarking for future reference, Flo Smile - there's some overlap with my book but it looks a bit more basic, which suits me better. Did you click on the link it gives to the Greenpeace site (

Talking about Kim and Aggie & their tips, they said that the best way to clean dirty windows & glass was with a spray of cold tea....it's the tannin or something that dissolves the grime. So's it's a mug for me & a mug for me windows tomorrow - sun outside ain't getting through in here Embarassed

Hey Pattie!

That's a new one - not heard that one before. Seeing as I drink gallons of tea I can give it a go and report back... my kitchen windows face due south and they're not a pretty sight in the low sun at this time of year! Confused

I always thought it was a dash of vinegar for window cleaning!

I 'spose thats cos nearly everyone has tea in their house but might not have vinegar. My mum always used meths thinking of it rather than vinegar though.

Well, Aggie and Kim were OK about their PG Tip Laughing It works a treat. No smears or anything, even the mirror doors on the wardrobe which are a b. to get smear-free.

Might do some more windows tomorrow. Just for the hell of it Wink
