antibacterial....and if according to that new food programme tonight on BBC2 4 uncooked cloves eaten a day can unfur arteries and reverse erection problems which themselves commonly happen 3 years before a heart attack Shocked

Prevention better than cure so bring on the garlic!

...although at that level of raw garlic consumption I can't see an erection being much use anyway Laughing

We just watched that too.

I spent a fair bit of time giggling at the folk who have never eaten raw veg. Pass the cauli! <parp>.

That and the garlic gents Smile It was the poor chap who didn't get benefit who said the most telling thing - *all* the others had responded to it including the ones who didn't dare go on film; he was the only one who hadn't, and that was probably due to the blood pressure pills.

I commented I'd better make sure I grow plenty of garlic in the years to come, given Sir tends to avoid vegetables like the plague and likes his high saturated fat meats. Sir's reply was unrepeatable!

(Luckily the onion family is largely an exception - he'll eat anything I can grow from it, often when I'm not looking...)

We loved the bit about beneficial bacteria. Alliums again! And artichokes (they also had bananas).

Icy Laughing Laughing I dunno, I guess every couple would have to have four each for fairness and not repelling the other. They didn't say what garlic does to ladies though!!!!

Moral: eat more onions, leeks and garlic.

I'll get me coat... and an air freshener.

I eat loadsa garlic anyway but what I learned was that cooking trashes much of the goodness and I never knew it such a big impact on garlic!

The trucker who swallowed the camera made me laugh! "The diet worked great but I can't be stopping every two hours!! " Laughing Laughing Laughing
