Is it any good? I can get hold of 2mx50m pieces for about £28 which is a lot cheaper than enviromesh - which I just cannot afford.
Also - what would be the best colour? Blue, Orange, Black, Yellow or Red

But do you use it to keep the beasties off anything and does it let enough light through?
With the colour thing, pretty sure that blue is a no-no as plants don't thrive under blue light. The orange and yellow I think would be a bit of an eyesore. What I am really wondering is, would black be better because it absorbs more warmth or would it not make the slightest bit of difference? _________________

You can use it to make pigeon keeper offers etc and it works fine. Colour is just aesthetics but I'd got for sommat low key eg black if that's what's on offer
It lets light through just fine |

He's not surprised at anything I do I got him raiding skips for cardboard when he was wearing a suit They covered the Cav pub recently in this green stuff and when it was coming down all the lotty guys were bringing it to the site in wheel barrows like some great green blobs I used it for my windbreak fencing and you can even use narrow bits to tie your bean rigs up and secure fruit trees to stakes with it. I reckon it would make good frames to keep pests off brassicas. It's not fine like Enviromesh but will deter rabbits and pigeons etc and allow good light transition |

I've got some blue stuff that was used on the Greenwich dome site. Use it for fruit cage. Ask builders if you can have it when it's finished. They have to skip it so you would be saving them a job. _________________ Get with the beat Baggy |

I have asked about old stuff but as I work out of town (approx 20miles) it is difficult being there at the right place at the right time. One bloke I know (although he is a tw*t) works as a scaffolder and he is supposed to be delivering some for me it to the pub but he hasn't done yet so I have ordered some. I will still ask for old stuff to use over the winter when small pests are less of a problem. I will use the new stuff during the summer as it should keep out all but the smallest beasty. _________________

I got mine under green netting anorl. Had to put soil round the sides to keep the rats/mice/pigeons/rabbits off it. Bet the feckin mole comes up underneath
Burned a great 'ole in my black sheet mulch today when a piece of flaming leylandii shot out from me bonfire. Just like a rocket Cuh |
