If I'm going to nick this dry piece of land down the side of the house - I'm going to need some stuff that thrives on stoney poor soil.

So has anybody got any sage, thyme, lemon balm, etc etc going spare please Very Happy

I'll have a look Reedos

Thinking thyme and that very strong greek oregano. I sowed some of that and it all germinated. Don't know if I have any seed left but I could send you some plants (is that legal?) and some thyme

Lavender, rosemary and sage will be suited to hot dry conditions too. I have grown some sage and it's gorgeous - large leaf job with pink flowers which turn purple as they mature. I could try and get you a few heel cuttings Very Happy

I've got seeds for sage, coriander, basil and parsley - not sure how they'd cope with no sol and no water, but you're welcome to some if you want 'em Laughing

Most stuff is allowed now with free movement in the EU and all that. Potatoes aren't and a few other bits and pieces which can spread disease. The only problem with sending life plants or living tissue is that the post can take ages - so I'd probably end up with some dry twigs Laughing Laughing Laughing

But anything gratefully accepted Very Happy

How do they know there's snowdrops in the package Confused

If you export snowdrops to the EU to be grown on on a commercial scale you need a plant passport according to DEFRA
