House hunting does make for a healthy appetite - all that walking and thinking. Did you see anything good? _________________ I'm not big on high maintenance - when it's time to bow out, I'll skid in sideways, in a wrecked, wrinkly and burned out body, wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, yelling "Woooohoooo, what a ride that was!!!!" |

I got the fibre pots from Wilko and they're cheap as chips
The Jiffy 7's which are the flat pellets which you soak in water I got from Two Wests in Chesterfield (mail order) along with some Root Riot cubes cos I couldn't find them in the shops
You might have more luck in shops near you Flo but here in the backwaters we're a bit limited
I put dahlia seedlings in the Jiffy 7's and pansy seedlings in the Root Riot cubes and all seems well, although I have to say they are a right fiddle |

Sounds just what I need ... will have to go look in at the nursery across the road
Despite the Had a good afternoon in the g/h .... got bl***y cold feet for the privilege though!
... carrots and spring onions in the trough; beetroot Detroit 6, 9* perenial and summer broccoli, perpetual spinach and snowball caulis into modules;
... then into tubs for the airing cupboard .... red, golden and green peppers (thank you ladies ) aji and hot lemon chillies (thank you gents ) two types aubergine Diamond and Gandia; and some tiger toms.
Think I'm getting the hang of 'early spring' !!! _________________ Gulp ...

Spent the morning digging and weeding out t'back and pulled the last parsnips which are 12" long White Gem I think they are called, so I'll deffo get more for the lotty.... which is about 1/5 dug over where I want to put in potatoes and some fruit bushes. Peeps round me have got earlies and onion sets in, so I'm feeling I ought to get a move on!
Chillis and tom seedlings looking good so that's my job for the weekend - potting on and sowing more seeds. _________________ I'm not big on high maintenance - when it's time to bow out, I'll skid in sideways, in a wrecked, wrinkly and burned out body, wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, yelling "Woooohoooo, what a ride that was!!!!" |
