I earthed up some of my earlies yesterday. Despite its name RDoY is an anarchist. Planted in nice straight rows, all the other sorts have stuck to the plan. The RDoY are all over the place making earthing very difficult. My problem is, they have only in about 6-8 weeks and my Home Guard and RDoY are looking like they are starting to flower. This weeks rain may save them, but I do not think they have liked the warm dry May so far. _________________

I earthed my 1st up when they were about 8" tall - well sort of anyway ... it's difficult earthing up with concrete soil and my arms were killing me when I'd only done 1/2 of them.
Guess what Flo - it's dry and sunny even if it is blowing a hoolie as HT would say. If I wasn't a gardener, I'd be well pleased - I'm runnning abuot in a vest top, which means it's deffo warm _________________ I'm not big on high maintenance - when it's time to bow out, I'll skid in sideways, in a wrecked, wrinkly and burned out body, wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, yelling "Woooohoooo, what a ride that was!!!!" |
