All in a quandry now. I have two baby thrushes here, unable to fly, and mum nowhere to be seen. One is in the middle of the drive and the other on the path round the back. My garden is covered in feathers where something, probably the marauding sparrowhawk, has killed what looks like a wood pigeon Shocked So, little baby birds, with no mum, murderous hawk and next door's cat Shocked Shocked I can't bear to look. Don't want to intervene as they say it's the wrong thing to do, and I'm hoping mum will show up sharpish.

I do so worry for them (shakes head) Sad

my aunty hand raised a fledgling thrush Very Happy

Sod what 'they' say!
I figure mankind has done immeasurable damage to wildlife, any positive intervention can only go one tiny step towards restoring the balance.

SAVE THE BABIES Shocked Shocked Shocked

Sorry folks

Well I hovered like a mother hen, from a safe distance, most of the morning. My arrived and there was one sitting in the drive. Next door's cat must be blind Very Happy There was another on the back garden which nearly drove me to distraction as it teetered on the edge of the ledge down to the air raid shelter. My heart was in my mouth in case it fell in Rolling Eyes

Later on I saw the likely parents so hopefully all is well. I'll let you know if I see them tomorrow Very Happy
