Florence fennel update

Anyone got any worth eating then Very Happy

Mine are coming along great Flo, no bolting yet she says with fingers crossed. They'll be ready soon

My lotty sec kindly gave me one of his yesterday. It was a bit too big really but I turned it into a pan of delicious soup. I added a spud to thicken it up a tad. In the pan went a rasher of chopped left-over bacon fried off first in butter, then shallots and garlic then the fennel and potato and sauteed a bit, then chicken stock, bay leaves and seasoning. I dished it up with a little single cream. Fab. It does take a while to cook as the fennel is quite hard so I just simmered it for probably an hour
