My car looked very very shabby in the pub car parks, I felt very shabby inside the pubs cos I don't look down my nose and I felt well out of place. Much happier mixing with the Rugby League fans at Wembley (except Saints fans who I hate who kept chanting Wonky Wonky Warrington at us or, when not bothered that we were accompanied by young children, changed the o to an a - hated them anyway - hate them more now - they are like Manure fans!) _________________

Good morning all
Don't all South by what you saw. I am a Northerner living in the the South West and loving it. Our area is no where near the prices you mentioned but do know what you mean. MUm and Dad's old terrace is worth very little but near Heathrow where we used to live it would be worth about 7 times more. |

not bad actually MB for you to get to Boza or Staveley (via Fan/Erin road) you know which comes out on Ralph Road, or to Boza it goes through Markham Pit to the Coalite and then to Bolsover or Shuttlewood
The council have named it Skinner Junction. His only claim to fame since he was famously knocked on the head by Tarzan |

morning.
not a good one here I'm afraid....the council just rang to say they want to charge us eighty five pounds a week to transport Vikkie to college.
We just don't have it.
I can drive her there but then can't do the city and guilds floristry course as I planned and Dave has an interview coming up for a job he won't be able to take because he'll have to take Sophie to school and pick her up when I'm driving Vikkie.
The childcare centre charges fifteen pounds each for breakfast and afterschool club so 30 quid a day and no reductions if one parent is not working (driving a disabled relative to college doesn't count).
The council suggested taking Vikkie out of college and putting her into social services day care
This is all thanks to the governments new rules for the disabled which our loony left council are embracing with gusto.
I know you in the North East will disagree, but I bloody miss Maggie _________________

The social care place here is next to the lotties and if not for the lotties the users would sit watching telly all day so I'd be reluctant to take Vicki out of college in favour of a day centre. Vikki has as much right as anyone else to go to college but needs help getting there. I reckon you could get someone on side to help with the money and my first port of call would be the local councillor as they have access to various pots of money which sits there unless folks ask.
I got help with transport costs (two thirds) and free dinners when I went to tech, and I got the dosh for my bus directly from college so no red tape (those were the days ) So I assume something should still be available. |

85 a WEEK? Yikes!
Fire off a letter to the local rag, they love injustices like that!
