Well cuffed, Very Happy only a little weeding done as it has been raining here for 3 days, grew some potatos in pots on the patio, got around 8lb from them, only grown from ones which had sprouted, but have one plot just for potatos, so I can have patio back Smile

From the foreground, 2 Vernons, 2 Lin's but I am borrowing one as the other plots were not ready for planting, the next plot will be mine but planted now with potatos and greens for others, the next will be for Chris, but his hurt his back and unable to 'do' at the present. The plots in the distance are what we call communial for the residenst who cannot garden, and Lin and I will do most of the tending and right in the far distance will be a highish raised flower garden with hopefully touchy feely, smelly, plants, I have loads of herbs in my small garden to plant when ready, then I will be able to see the patio. oh! gawd I do rabbit on Smile

Thank you for replies. we are very pleased with it so far. Its stopped raining so perhaps a bit more can be done as Andrew has arrived, Very Happy he's the raised bed and fence maker. Also in time we are having a fence build around as the path is used by the 'private' Wink sector, and a lot walk their little doggies here, just reared on a silly woman who let her dog poo in my driveway Mad

don't get me started on other people's pets pooh! Evil or Very Mad

can I suggest you grow some cutting flowers on the communal plot?
that way anyone feeling under the weather or unable to get outside much will still get the benefit when you gardeners take a bunch of blooms round Very Happy

I've got oodles of iris corms to thin out in the next couple of weeks and probably some lily of the valley if you'd like some Very Happy
And you could stick some daffodils and tulips in in the autumn to cheer you all up come February Very Happy

good idea Tara

I've grown dahlias for the first time ever. I'm amazed at how easy they were to grow from seed and bring to the flowering stage. A doddle. They look so posh and expensive too, so next year I'll be growing more of them. I think the tubers can be saved and replanted next year Very Happy

even better, the tubers can be saved, SPLIT then planted next year Laughing

pm your addy Elizabeth and I'll bung them in the post.
We don't really do p&p here....it tends to all work out in the end...but thanks for the offer Very Happy

you pretty much leave the corms visible on the ground, they don't like to be buried. most of these will turn out to be yellow ones....there are a few purples but it seems the ones spreading fastest are the yellow ones Very Happy
