Good evening, we have got some pallet type frames and wanted to make compost bins with them but the gaps between the slats are about 3", would it be ok! to line with refuse sacks or the like Confused

I wouldn't bother Elizabeth - but then I'm lazy. Compost heaps need air Very Happy

I didn't but then when it was cooked and I emptied it, I lined it then, with old flattened out fertiliser bags, to keep the heat in. Cover the top too Elizabeth has you need heat to make the compost cook or it takes forever. Don't forget to give it a stir up occasionally Very Happy
