Just read on Beeb that Joy Larkcom is filming at Brryfields next week for Gardeners World. Usually film a week in advance. Should be an interesting program.

Well I missed most of the prog but just sat down at the right time. Bit short wonnit Evil or Very Mad I would have preferred sommat a bit more solid but never mind.

So get sowing that parsley and oriental veg, including pak choi. Those mixtures don't usually include it so check the packet Very Happy

She was modest wasn't she cos if not for her we'd probably not be eating any of the leaf mixtures we take for granted. I think she brought us mesclun and saladini.

Enjoyed the bit of the prog I saw. Missed the bit though where Carol was on the veg plot Rolling Eyes

But you've got her books too Wink ... one thing I didn't remember was that she had lived in China ... hence her passion for 'saladini' Very Happy

She had two slots Wardy, so you may have missed first bit.
Alice was very gushy.
Nice to see Joe has trouble with caterpillars. Was amazed when he said he only gets to his allotment once a week.

I agree with Plum that Alys was really gushy - spent most of her time saying she was Joy's No. 1 fan rather than interviewing her Rolling Eyes Laughing Would have been better if Carol had done that bit.

Wards - sounds like you only saw the second slot - the first slot was longer Very Happy

yeah, but his team of gardeners are there every day Rolling Eyes
His potatoes went in well after mine yet are three times as big, the fennel he dug up was pale and blanched yet strangely wasn't earthed up at all Confused
It's taken him just a few short months to double dig an entire plot, build wooden walkways and raised beds, sow and cultivate a full and varied (not to mention extremely speedy) crop to the point of harvest by visiting the plot once a week.
Hmmm......methinks 'MY ARSE' is the phrase that springs to mind... Laughing

Joy L. is a sweetheart though eh? Very Happy
