I think it's fine just not for tomatoes or spuds Confused

what rotten luck Flo! I'm still only getting a couple of toms a day with the bulk of the crop huge but still green, it's just pants to blight when the fruit are so full of promise Sad

Ade was telling me that all his tomato trusses are ripening in trays on the shed roof to avoid the blight on his plot site...might that work for you?

I got blight too but not had time to defoliate anything unfortunately. Had ONE tomato thus far but Wardy ate it Rolling Eyes

Spuds have it and a few have been stinky but not dug many of them up yet so must get it done once I get time, hopefully today at some point

so bloody annoying isn't it. The plants look terrible don't they when they succumb. Looks as if we'll get more of it in the future. Never heard of it til last year. I lost most of my crop last year. Only the bog standard Tigerella and GD survived

Just don't wash any that you want to ripen inside, or if you do, dry them immediately with paper and don't leave them in a humid area or they'll disintegrate too.

I tend to leave green ones on a newspaper-covered table and inspect them daily, removing all the ones that look like they are on the turn.

<Barefacedcheekmode>

If anyone's got too many green tomatoes, and not enough freezer space, I'll happily give them a good home for an appropriate donation cos this is my second year with no tomatoes and I am out of chutney!!!
