Well, what do Stuffers make of this earth shattering brave new world we opened our curtains to this morning Very Happy

Even hardened hacks were getting all emotional apparently

So, I expect it will be interesting in the days and weeks ahead watching how Obama's new life will play out, or maybe unravel. Interesting times I think. I've not taken any interest in the campaign as it gets on my wick but now that the proper politicing can start I've got interested

Anyone else Very Happy

Thank goodness I thought this morning - can you imagine McCain and Palin with their fingers on the button Shocked Mrs'I can see Russia from my house' as her answer to a question on her knowledge of foriegn policy and Mr Bomb Bomb Iran to the Beach Biys Barabara Ann - Shocked

My only worry with Obama is there seems to be a touch of the Blair about him, this brave new dawn and everyone loves him - hard to remember or imagine it know but Blair was rather popular and seen as the answer to the countries prayers back in '97 and I worry that Obama will end up the same

They are all politicians at the end of the day - high office attracts those who least deserve it - but I will say he is a fantastic orator, his speech writers are amazing and I certainly felt goosebumps when I listened to his acceptance speech this morning.

I did feel a bit emotional this morning when Absolute radio played 'new dawn' by Nina Simone, seamlessly inter cut with Martin Luther King's 'I have a dream' and Obama's acceptance speech.

Apart from that though, I'm afraid the cynic in me believes that idealists don't get to be president. Only cold, hard, utterly ruthless men consumed with personal ambition can make it that far Confused

Yes you're probably right Tara.

Is Obama's wife a lawyer? If so, then yes it does seem a bit reminiscent of Tony and Cherie Very Happy Nah, there could never be another Cherie Very Happy

So, I must have missed out on what's up with Sarah Palin. I've not taken much interest thus far so is she a religious fundamentalist or something? Confused

The only quote I've read on that is that she's a creationist and thinks that's what should be taught in schools, not evolution.

I think she was just funny Laughing Laughing Laughing

I saw his acceptance speech too and he was very good, undoubtedly you need to be tough and ruthless to get there. Only time will tell if he's any good or not as a President - but let's face it anybody has to be better than Bush
