I bought a roll of copper tape and have put it round the potting shed window (controlled by an auto-vent) so the little blighters can't get in.
Don't know if your gh is a permie one or one of the mini ones: snails ate the lot of my mini gh cabbages last year when they were hardening off. If it's a mini, I suggest getting hold of copper pipe and bending it into a rectangle the size and shape of the gh base, and then putting it on the ground around it. Anchor if need be. They won't be able to crawl over it. If it's up against a wall, put the pipe up the sides too, so there's a barrier everywhere. I have yet to do it, but it's on the list...

We put slug pellets round edge of base , doesn't help when they are in though.
Last year had to go out several times in the dark with torch to catch the munchers as didn't want to put pellets on the compost in the pots. Wehave aluminum staging with trays so I fill them with sharp sand which also helps with watering in summer.
Good hunting |
