Just read on Beeb that Joy Larkcom is filming at Brryfields next week for Gardeners World. Usually film a week in advance. Should be an interesting program. |

Well I missed most of the prog but just sat down at the right time. Bit short wonnit I would have preferred sommat a bit more solid but never mind.
So get sowing that parsley and oriental veg, including pak choi. Those mixtures don't usually include it so check the packet
She was modest wasn't she cos if not for her we'd probably not be eating any of the leaf mixtures we take for granted. I think she brought us mesclun and saladini.
Enjoyed the bit of the prog I saw. Missed the bit though where Carol was on the veg plot _________________

She had two slots Wardy, so you may have missed first bit.
Alice was very gushy.
Nice to see Joe has trouble with caterpillars. Was amazed when he said he only gets to his allotment once a week. |

yeah, but his team of gardeners are there every day
His potatoes went in well after mine yet are three times as big, the fennel he dug up was pale and blanched yet strangely wasn't earthed up at all
It's taken him just a few short months to double dig an entire plot, build wooden walkways and raised beds, sow and cultivate a full and varied (not to mention extremely speedy) crop to the point of harvest by visiting the plot once a week.
Hmmm......methinks 'MY ARSE' is the phrase that springs to mind...
Joy L. is a sweetheart though eh? _________________

Tara - couldn't agree more I was thinking there's no way he could have done all that with a once per week visit
Wards - you should be able to watch Gardeners World on the BBC iplay thingy - link here - page says you can currently watch it for the next 6 days [url] Only registered users can see links on this forum! Register or Login on forum! |
