Now I can't really answer that question, never having seen one in real life except at the Sealife Centre but.....
What diving has done has made me far more aware, probably because of the magazines I get about diving, of the problems that sharks, other "game" fish have and marine life in general. I don't want to get all evangelical - cos that's not we are about, so I'll post these links to let you have a look and make your own minds up

That's terrible. The Chinese/Japanese just don't seem to care what they are doing to our planet. There was a report out recently, as the rest of the world are trying to cut our carbon emissions, one of the biggest contributors are refusing to do anything to help!!
Nothing should be wiped out at the hands of man, it is inhumane, not to mention the damage it will cause to the eco system. I have to admit that I have eaten shark once, but that was about 20 years ago. It was ok but nothing to write home about and I wouldn't order it in a restaurant |

Cornwall is shark central at the moment and volunteers are being asked to come forward to count this year's basking sharks. Sounds interesting, just up my street, cept it's not I'd love to get close up to one of those or two in fact
I think sharks are just so fascinating, they're prehistoric and have not evolved as they don't need to. They are perfick
Sorry Reedos, just bought the level of debate to new depths of shallowness |

Not an apologist for the Chinese or anything but China and the rest of the developing world together contribute a fraction of the carbon pumped out by the US alone. Their argument is, nobody fettered our development and when we are so unwilling to cut our emissions, 'why they hell should we?' They have a point. I think the US has to start doing more before it starts lecturing the developing and underdeveloped world.
BTW - sharks are beauty as is just about every living creature on the planet. There is of course an exception and it doesn't matter what gender, creed or colour he is! _________________

I realise that the US has a lot to answer for, but the way I saw it was that they are 'trying' to do something about it?
I'm not having a pop at China, or any other country, I'm all for developing countries doing something to help themselves, it just seems that they go about it in the wrong way? |
