I though most of the glass these days was recycled into making roads!! _________________ Gulp ...

Our local glass factory, now unfortunately closed due to cheap imports from Indonesia , used to stock recycled glass products, eg kitchen storage jars, wine glasses etc and they were really good. I've still got all mine from years ago. I make jewellery with recycled glass beads from India as well
I bought a load metal beads from somewhere in Africa and they were made with old aluminium pans |

This lot have an interesting website - good for kids. Rockware are a company that recycles glass and supplies it back as finished goods. _________________ I'm not big on high maintenance - when it's time to bow out, I'll skid in sideways, in a wrecked, wrinkly and burned out body, wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, yelling "Woooohoooo, what a ride that was!!!!" |

The reason Del is that the glass proved to hard to clean to todays high standards which is why most of it is now in plastic which is also cheaper and easier to recycle.
The other problem is an increased risk of breakage with re-used bottles during cleaning, refilling and transport all the way to your fridge and if there is one thing sure to kill sales of anything it is the risk you might apply, eat or drink a bit of glass! _________________ "Still other seed fell on good soil. Josh nearly swallowed a glass of water... literally... it slipped and he tried to keep hold of it wiht his teeth!!! Thankfully, he let it go and it smashed into bits in the basin rather than him biting off a large chunk like i remember his uncle did a few times...........! _________________ I'm not big on high maintenance - when it's time to bow out, I'll skid in sideways, in a wrecked, wrinkly and burned out body, wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, yelling "Woooohoooo, what a ride that was!!!!" |
